How To Play The GGPoker Tournaments
At GGPoker, there are nine different poker tournament types that can be found. Below, we’ve detailed exactly what each of them involves so that you can take part knowing how to play.
Guaranteed Tournaments
Even if the total amount of the buy-ins obtained is less than the guaranteed amount, the guaranteed amount will still be given to the winners.
It's important to remember that the buy-in money for GGPoker's regular events goes straight into the prize pool. However, if more people participate and more money is collected than the specified prize pool, the pot size will rise.
Freezeout Tournaments
All participants will start with the same number of tournament chips. While the event is ongoing, no further chips may be purchased.
If a player completely wipes out their bankroll, they are out of the competition. Unless the event is a rebuy tournament, it will end in a freezeout.
N-Stack Tournaments
Every participant in a N-Stack Tournament is given N stacks of chips at the start of the tournament. The player may choose how many of these stacks to utilise at the beginning of the tournament and how many to save for later use just before assuming their seat.
If a player does not use their reserved stacks by the specified time, then those chips will be added to their live stack automatically at the end of late registration or the specified time.
Progressive Bounty Tournaments
Every participant in a Progressive Knockout (PKO) Bounty event on GGPoker is marked with a bounty. The reward of the player who eliminates an opponent in a tournament increases by half of the eliminated player's original bounty. The player who knocks out an opponent receives an immediate monetary reward equal to half of the knocked-out player's bounty.
Rebuy Tournaments
Each participant at the beginning of the event will be given the same number of tournament chips. Each participant in the tournament has the option to "rebuy," or buy back in with a chip stack equal to their original, at any time throughout the event.
If a player's chip count drops below the initial chip count within the rebuy window, they may make another purchase.
Satellite Tournaments
Satellite tournaments are lower-stakes competitions that provide entry into higher-stakes "main event" tournaments. Currently, GGPoker hosts turbo and standard speed Satellite tournaments leading up to its main event and Bounty Hunters events.
Turbo Tournaments
Turbo tournaments are a faster alternative to standard tournaments, with shorter blind levels (about one-third to half the length of a standard tournament's) and fewer opportunities to act between rounds. GGPoker features a range of turbo events that include Satellites and Daily Guarantees.
Shootout Tournaments
As players are eliminated from a Shootout Tournament, the tables become more unbalanced. As long as there is at least one participant at each table, the game will continue. A new "round" starts after all tables in the current "round" have played down to a winner and the winners have been reseated.
Private Tournaments
Exclusive tournaments are organised for a certain cohort of players with the objective of facilitating promotions.
