Live Age of the Gods fuses slots with live streaming

Playtech's latest game follows the trend of live streamers playing slot games. Instead of a gameshow style presenter, a more interactive live streamer style takes centre stage, making for a more community focussed experience.

What are live slots?

Live slots are a new type of live dealer game which brings the thrill of real dealer casino to action-packed online slots. Now a more community-led experience, players can join hundreds of members in one room to watch their favourite games play out.

To join a game, you will need to pick your stake and how many rounds you wish to play. With the autoplay option, you can also continue the fun for as long as you like.

In the right-hand corner, members can type and send messages to all members in the room. The message system resembles something you would see on a site like Twitch making for a busy, but exciting reading experience. Coupled with the streamer/dealer sitting in familiar gaming chair - and you could mistake this for a real gambling live stream.

Whether this will succeed above the gameshow presentation of Live Buffalo Blitz is yet to be seen.

Live Age of Gods Bonus Features

Live AOTG doesn't change any core components of the gameplay. Members still have the chance to win four progressive jackpots and the respin feature is still present. The only difference here is that you will be sharing these moments with hundreds and even thousands of other players.

It all starts with the Argo wild; when this ship covers a whole reel, Aelous will finally make an appearance at the side of the reels. He will then proceed to blow the vessel from the reels; with each blow the ship wild will move one reel across which will also increase a multiplier.

The wild wind respins ends when the ships (or ships) exit the reels. The Argo ship wilds can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. Granted, some may lament the lack of a God of Storms free spins bonus, but the feature in question doesn’t need to rely on a combo of hard to get bonus symbols. So in a way, this mechanic blows your traditional bonus rounds away.

The jackpot is also present and accounted for - which gives room goers the chance to win thousands on a single spin. The jackpot round activates at random - and if it activates, a picking game will start where players can reveal coins to see one of five prizes

Overall, we prefer the aesthetic and style of Playtech's first foray into live games. This game closely resembles a Twitch stream - which is why it lacks that all important wow factor. With a more professional presentation, Buffalo Blitz live still takes the crown of being the best live slot.
