Depending on your pop culture knowledge, Plinko is either a game taken from the 1980s TV show “The Price is Right” or a western take on the Japanese game of pachinko. Either way, the game has been embraced by crypto casinos and has made its way to mainstream online casinos too.
The online arcade-style game involves a ball or series of balls falling between pins into coloured boxes to determine your payout. You can win up to 2,500, 000 coins at some casinos!

How to play Plinko
Plinko is simple to play. Set your bets from 0.10 coins to 2,500 coins a go, depending on which casino you are playing at. You then set the number of pins you want to determine the number of lines in the pyramid. The Stake original offers 8-16 lines, as does the BGaming version.
The Spribe version allows you to choose 12, 14, or 16 lines. Here, you can also choose which colour balls you wish to use. Green is the lowest risk and lowest payout and reds offer the greatest range with both the lowest and highest multipliers.
You need a multiplier of more than 1x to make a profit. The more pins you have the higher the potential payout. However, it also makes it harder to win.
How to win Plinko
The Spribe Plinko gives you the lowest max payout at 55,500 coins, but also offers the lowest minimum bet. The BGaming version has a max payout of 100,000 coins.
To win big on the Spribe Plinko, you need to use all the high-risk red balls and hope you get lucky.
On all three versions, you can go slow and steady, building up small bets and small risks.
Special Features and Bonuses
There aren’t any bonus rounds in Plinko, but there are some features worth explaining.
The BGaming and Spribe Plinkos both have an automatic mode where you can watch multiple balls drop simultaneously. Each ball is a bet so be careful not to lose sight of that.
In BGaming and Spribe Plinko, you can choose your level of risk.
In the BGaming version, the risk level is marked low, normal, and high. The higher the risk, the higher the payout, and vice versa.
The Spribe Plinko set the risks level according to the colour of balls you choose to use. Each has a different risk level - green is the lowest, yellow is medium, and red is high. Again, the lower the risk, the lower the payout.
Similar to the volatility of different slots, it’s down to preference.
Provably Fair game
Not only is Plinko a fair game, but players can verify the fairness for themselves. Players get a piece code (a hash) to check the fairness via the blockchain.
Design & Theme
Like most crash games, Plinko follows a ‘less is more’ design. The screen displays a pyramid of white dots, the pins, with a row of coloured boxes running along the bottom. The balls are slightly larger circles in a choice of three colours that bounce appealingly between the pins, bouncing off them and changing direction. If you turn the sound up, you can hear the balls bouncing down.
Plinko’s popularity is obvious, not least from it having spawned three versions from three different developers. As it's easy to play, it's perfect for beginners looking for an alternative to slots and classic casino games. As you grow more confident, you can increase the number of lines and pins to play for bigger potential payouts. If you’ve never tried Plinko before, we recommend giving it a try.
