Stake.us Poker Jackpot Rules & Payouts Explained

There is nothing quite like the crushing feeling of flopping an absolute monster poker hand, only to get rivered by an even bigger monster. It is the definition of a 'bad beat', and it usually leaves players staring blankly at their screens.

However, the team at Stake.us is changing the narrative entirely. Instead of letting you wallow in heartbreak, they're continuing their legendary 1,000,000 Bad Beat Jackpot promo to turn your worst defeats into a massive payday.

What Triggers the Bad Beat Jackpot?

To activate this generous vault of rewards, the hand must be a collision of premium cards. The minimum qualifying strength required to lose the hand varies depending on the specific poker variant you are playing:

  • Texas Hold'em: Four of a Kind 2s or better
  • PLO4 (4-Card Omaha): Four of a Kind 4s or better
  • PLO5 (5-Card Omaha): Four of a Kind 8s or better
  • PLO6 (6-Card Omaha): Four of a Kind Jacks or better

The Rules of Engagement

To make sure the jackpot triggers at the table, there are a few rules that must be met during the hand:

Showdown is Mandatory: The hand must completely play out and go all the way to showdown.

Two Hole Cards Required: Both the hand winner and the hand loser must use exactly two of their hidden hole cards to make their qualifying five-card combination. For a Four of a Kind to count, your hole cards must include a pocket pair.

Table Minimums: There must be 4 or more players actively dealt into the hand.

First Board Counts: If players choose to run the board multiple times, only the first runout will qualify for the jackpot.

Stay in Your Seat: Any player dealt into the hand must remain at the table until the conclusion of the hand to receive their share.

How the 1,000,000 Jackpot Pool is Distributed

The beauty of the Bad Beat Jackpot is that losing the pot actually makes you the biggest winner. The payout structure rewards the unfortunate loser, the actual hand winner, and even the bystanders who were just lucky enough to be sitting at the virtual table.

The jackpot pool receives 3% of all Ring Game rake to keep it constantly fueled. When the trigger hits, the distribution breaks down as follows:

RecipientPercentage of the Jackpot Pool
Bad Beat Winner (Losing Hand)5.60%
Bad Beat Opponent (Winning Hand)3.50%
Other Active Table Players2.1% (Split equally among everyone else)

The size of the jackpot pool is directly tied to the stakes you are playing, with the highest blinds holding the lion's share of the pool. For instance, at the top tier (such as the 2.50/5.00 Stake Cash or 25,000/50,000 Gold Coin tables), players are competing for 56.69% of the massive allocation, scaling all the way down to the micro-stakes (0.01/0.02 Stake Cash) tables which hold 0.23% of the fund.

Just keep an eye out for the Bad Beat Jackpot icon in the Stake.us poker lobby to make sure you are sitting at a qualifying Ring Game table!
