What are the things not to miss during the first visit to Las Vegas?
Discover some of the many things you really should see if you are going to Las Vegas for the first time. From the sites of Italy and Paris to the casinos and shows, there is so much to see.
Unless you are planning to move to Las Vegas for at least six months, you really won’t get to see everything properly on your first visit. So, frankly don’t try as there is just too much, but if you are headed there, you really should find the time for some of these things as they make up a stellar first visit.
1. Bellagio Fountains
Part of the Bellagio hotel complex the fountains are located right at the roadside and are stunning. The dancing waters are mesmeric and lit up at night and look totally gorgeous, so much so that traffic often snarls up right outside as visitors slow down to get a better look.
2. Little Italy
Take a Venetian Gondola boat ride within the replica of Venice. Everything is there down to St Mark’s Square, and you do not have to be a hotel resident to enjoy the sights. It really is something worth seeing and who doesn’t love a boat ride. There is plenty to see and do with shopping and the casino if that takes your fancy, but this little Italy is a must.
3. The Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam
Yes, Las Vegas is all about the casinos and night life, but not far away is some of the most stunning scenery you will see in your life and taking a tour is totally recommended. Both of these venues have so much to offer and give the perfect photo opportunity to seal your memories forever. Tours run all the time and can be booked for the next day so take advantage and get yourself on an organised tour.
4. Take in a Show
There are many shows in Vegas, whether you love musicals or want to see a star perform. The likes of Celine Dion and Elton John are there for those whole like tunes, while musical types can see Jersey Boys or Phantom. The Blue Man Group are always very popular and quirky so worth checking them out if you get the chance too.
5. Head Up the Eiffel Tower
Well, not the one in Paris obviously, take the lift up the Eiffel Tower right to the top and enjoy the views out over the Strip. It is a fantastic sight to behold and well worth seeing Las Vegas from a different angle, and you will spot loads of great places you can later trek off and find.
6. Go on a Casino Tour
Not to play, just to see how all the different casinos work. They all have something different to offer, and of course, if you like you can have a quick game or two, but the experience provided by all of them is so different and totally worth seeing. You won’t have time to see them all but try and fit in a few for a great day out.
