Jose Mourinho is special in Paddy Power Games new TV ad
Paddy Power Game's latest TV ad promotes their new Daily Jackpots feature
Think you're special? Jose Mourinho has something to say about that. The footie legend stars in a hilarious new TV ad from Paddy Power Games.
Aired on the 26th September, the ad pokes fun at some of the "Special Ones" most memorable career moments. It ends with a promotion for Paddy Power's new Daily Jackpots - a new progressive feature that must be won every day.
Hardcore football fans will likely note all of the subtle references in the ad. But for a full breakdown, continue reading below.
Jose Mourinho stars in Paddy Power Ad
Paddy Power's new TV ad is chock full of nods to Jose Mourinho's controversial career. The very concept of the ad references how he once called himself the Special One. Below you will find a breakdown of all the references.
0:13 - Jose comes to a newspaper clipping with the headline United Clinch Second. The former Manchester United manager looks at the cutting and says: "Not all great achievements get trophies." This references a 2018 statement in which Mourinho claimed placing second in the league with Man United might have been his greatest success.
0:26 - Doing a spot of gardening, Mourinho claims that being special means being humble. And that special never brags. The camera pans out to a bush in the shape of a hand extending three fingers. Which is also the number of Premier League titles he bagged with Chelsea.
0:35 - A cleaning lady asks Mourinho if he has any dirty laundry - to which he replies not today. This references Jose's attempt to beat a touchline ban suspension by hiding in a basket with the help of a Chelsea Kit man.
01:00 - Jose walks past a bookcase with assorted reading material. Two of these books are "The Voyeur" and "Le Specialiste En Failure". This clip prods fun at Mourinho's famous war of words with former Arsenal manager: Arsène Wenger.
Paddy Power Jackpots are a bit special
The advert eventually ends with Mourinho in a London taxi hitting the big time with the Paddy Power Games Daily Jackpot. To which the cabbie replies that Jose isn't special at all - highlighting that the jackpot has to be won every day.
The new Daily Jackpot games at Paddy Power consist of three separate prizes.
- Daily Jackpot: This progressive has to be won before 11:00 pm every single day. And the average size of the pot is a staggering £40,000.
- Monster Jackpot: This is the biggest of the Daily Jackpots - and can be won at any time. One lucky slots spinner bagged the £1.5million prize playing Lucky Halloween.
- Cash Booster Jackpot: This smaller jackpot has to drop before it hits £2,400. With this being a network prize, the jackpot builds incredibly fast.
How do you win a Daily Jackpot? All of these prizes are triggered at random on any value stake. All you have to do is choose a compatible Daily Jackpot game and get spinning.
The Daily Jackpots are part of Red Tiger's Daily Drop Jackpot product, which has paid out over £2.5million since April.
